The Barn will close to the general public on Sunday October 19th at 5pm.
Back in December, when we announced that we would be closing to the general public; we also announced that we would be having weekly sales until we closed to the general public. Because we sell such a wide variety of new and antique products, and because we continue to bring in new products every week. Having one sale discount rate for everything in our store was not realistic. We’ve tried to make our sales as simple and straightforward as possible. We’ve switched to monthly sales, and simplified our sales. We’ve explained our sales in detail on this page. And we provide flyers in store that list all sales in a simple and straightforward manner. However, many of our customers have made it clear to us, that they find us having different sales for different products too difficult. So, we decided to make some changes.
We know that our final seven weeks of being open to the general public are going to be very busy. So, what we’ve decided to do for our final seven weeks, is cancel all existing sales, and have one simple sale for our remaining weeks. In order to do this we’ve had to adjust prices on a few items. We have not changed the prices on over 99% percent of our inventory[base price, before discount]. However, we did have to change prices on a few pieces, so that we could sell everything at the same discount rate. It’s the only way for us to have one simple sale.
Until we close to the general public on October 19th, all inventory will be sold at 50% off. That’s right, everything will be half price. HST is not included and will be charged regardless of payment method. To determine the price you will need to pay for any item[s], simply divide the price in two, then add 13% HST. Example, a sideboard for $650, will be $325 + $42.25 HST = $367.25.
This will be our final sale. There will be no additional reductions in prices. Prices are not negotiable, and we are not excepting offers on any items. Any items that don’t sell at current pricing by 5pm on October 19th, will remain and be used as part of our film and television production supply business.
All sales will be final. We are no longer offering refunds or exchanges. All items purchased must be picked up within one week of purchase. We will store large sold pieces that are paid in full for a maximum of one week. We are not excepting deposits on any item[s].
We are also no longer offering holds on items, everything will be first come first served. We often get asked to hold items while a customer measures to see if the item will fit, or to make sure their wife or husband agrees with the purchase. We can no longer offer holds on any items.
Everything purchased must be picked up by 5pm on October 19th. Any item purchased and not picked up by 5pm on October 19th, will be forfeit.
Sales of $5 or less, will now be cash only. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Debit, for sales above $5.
Yes, there will continue to be new arrivals over our final weeks. However, we will no longer be posting photos of new arrivals on this page. Our time will be focused on getting sold product out, and bringing in new items. If you want to see what’s new over our final weeks, you’ll have to pay us a visit.
We’ve made all these changes to try to make our final sale as easy as possible. Given the incredibly low prices we are offering, we know The Barn is going to very busy until we close. We will help customers, on a first come first served basis. We have no doubt that there will be times when there will be a long wait. We recomend coming during off peak hours, if possible. Mornings are usually our least busy times. We would like to thank everyone in advance for your patience and cooperation.
The Barn is open four days a week, Friday through Monday, 10am to 5pm. We are closed Tuesday through Thursday. Yes, we will be open on Thanksgiving Monday. As of today, there are 27 shopping days left at The Barn.
