Exclusive! The Cintra collection is finally here, photos are attached. We have the coffee and end tables in two colours, as well as the nest of tables, and we have them exclusively. All certified reclaimed wood to go with the sideboards and dinning tables that are already in stock. We’ve been getting many requests for small TV units, so we’ve brought back the small lifestyle TV unit. It’s only 34” wide and its on wheels- a photo is attached. Lots of antique sewing related items this week including: spools, knitting needles, and unusual spool with bobbins on it, stick shuttles for weaving, etc.. Antique furniture arrivals this week include: 2 different pairs of walnut night stands, Gibbard magazine table, vanity/desk, small mahogany coffee table, large 2 piece provincial cabinet, a small primitive child’s bench, a fantastic period corner cabinet, cherry gateleg table, primitive blanket box, and more. More new arrivals include: an Underwood typewriter, a collection of cast iron miniatures, lots of cups and saucers, miniature tools, an unusual wooden treasure box with leather handles, a heavy hand forged cast iron anchor, a tennis ball poker set, some sterling silver flatware, assorted framed prints and paintings, a couple of dark green Wedgwood pieces, assorted ceiling light fixtures, a collection of cast iron wall and floor registers, 15 small guilt frames, and lots more.

Lots of rare and unusual smalls this week including: a collection of vintage beer trays and ash trays-a photo is attached, a fireman’s helmet and 3 bronze firehose nozzles, 4 wooden tennis rackets, assorted folk art pieces, 3 pewter milk jugs marked 1825, an unusual brass lamp with hanging clock-a photo is attached, and a large brass swan sculpture. A large collection of vintage kitchen items arrived: jars, bottles, cooking crockery, cast iron pieces, a large brass jelly pan, meat grinders, mason jars, rolling pins, etc.. Furniture arrivals this week include: a bergere chair with matching stool, a down filled wing chair, corner chair, porcelain top table, a dainty drop front desk, 3 child’s chairs, narrow drop leaf table, mahogany coffee table, a spooled drop leaf end table, magazine display rack, wicker night stand, pine armoire, lots of assorted tables, cedar chest, lots of assorted chairs, a mahogany wine table, solid walnut Gibbard queen size bed, child’s desk and chair, and lots more. Even more odds and ends include: a bunch of vases and planters, some Blue Mountain pottery, a terrific pair of cast iron book ends, a brass 3 way screen, old milk crates and wood boxes, a portable typewriter, a pair of wind mill scene lamps, a collection of jack knives, a rosewood Empire mantle clock, figurines- Hummel’s and Royal Daulton’s, assorted china, and lots more. The award for most unusual item of the week goes to a working 1930’s easy bake style child’s oven.

We got in five large cast iron cauldrons with lids this week. Perfect for anyone doing a production of Macbeth. Someone even made bases with wheels for them, because what good is a cauldron if its not mobile. Lots of sterling silver flatware this week, including two large sets. Furniture arrivals this week include: an Empire bonnet chest, a nice oak hall tree, 2 walnut servers, a table desk, a terrific oval Empire parlour table, a pair of outdoor chairs, a spice rack, a Louie XV style needlepoint arm chair, a walnut china cabinet, a large tall cd cabinet, a small needlepoint footstool, 2 Primitive type servers-a photo is attached, and more. More cool stuff this week includes: a great 1920’s rewired slag lamp, 2 large framed needlepoint scenes, a tapestry, a large round galvanized tub, an unusual curved top buffet mirror, a printer’s tray, a Budweiser clock sign, assorted crocks, a pair of beaded vintage hanging lights, a brass fan style summer screen, a large heavy Swedish copper poker set, 2 tredle Singer sewing machines, assorted cups and saucers, 2 large framed 1970’s paintings, assorted sets of crystal glasses, assorted silver plate flatware, a lot of mason jars, the heaviest pair of fire dogs we’ve ever come across, and lots more.

A collection of milk cans showed up this week, as did cast iron pieces galore including the nicest Christmas tree stand we have ever seen. It’s a little early, I know. A collection of crocks came in this week, we have had a crock shortage lately-not anymore! Antique furniture arrivals this week include: a walnut tea wagon, a set of 6 press back chairs, a nice set of 5 gunstock chairs, a mahogany settee, a mahogany china cabinet, a vanity stool, a primitive pine drop leaf table, a primitive hall table, a set of bamboo shelves, a large hall bench-a photo is attached, a 5 piece Vilas bedroom suite, an empire bookcase, a slipper chair, and assorted odd chairs. Some odds and ends this week include: a model ship, assorted cameras including a movie projector with screen, an oval guilt framed print, assorted prints comprised of Norman Rockwell and Paris scenes, a silver plated candelabra, a pipe set, oil lamps, a bronze figure, a Smith corona portable typewriter, assorted china including several partial sets and one complete service for 8, and lots more. The award for the most unusual item of the week goes to a really cool leather holster and fake revolver. It would make a great start on a Halloween costume. I know it’s early for that too!

This week a brand new line arrived from Montreal, all made of reclaimed wood and iron. Two photos are attached, the first arrivals include: a large icebox style sideboard, a large media unit, a coffee table, a dinning table, and a really cool sliding barn door wine cabinet. Some of the pieces are very similar to the line of icebox cabinets we used to carry, in addition there are lots of new styles. The last of the bobblehead garden gnomes came in this week. This will be the final batch of the season. When we run out there will be no more available until next spring. We also restocked the outdoor horses and pigs to go along with the elephants. Lots of odd pieces of sterling silver showed up, as did a Wallace sterling flatware service for 10. Lots of cool antique odds and ends this week including: butter boxes, cheese boxes, sealers galore, a coal scuttle, a stained glass window, cast iron pulleys, Asian style boxes and containers, 5 tractor seats, cast iron pots and a roaster, tools, a hand carved dough bowl, lots of small leather bound books, 1/2 size trunk, 2 mantle clocks, 4 paintings, and a large pair of the ugliest lamps we have ever seen-they will make a great movie prop. Some of this weeks antique furniture arrivals include: a carved Elizabethan library table, an Empire library table, and oak tea trolley, a vanity desk, a piano stool, a sewing cabinet, a nice steno chair, a pedestal, a really nice whatnot, plant stands, a sofa table, and assorted parlour tables.

A shipment of reclaimed wood furniture arrived from Vancouver this week including: Irish Coast 3 drawer night stands, blanket boxes, media units, and servers. In our newest collection-Cintra, we have restocked the small sideboards, and the first of the extension dining tables showed up. A set of 22 oak arm chairs came in from a restaurant that was being renovated, as did two great 7’4” stained glass windows-photos of both are attached. A collection of farm implements came in, including: a fence puller, branding irons, forging tools, etc.. A large quantity and wide variety of smalls were put out on display including: cups and saucers, assorted china, miniatures, silverware, hollowware, crystal, figurines, lots of matchbox toys, sap buckets, and lots of unusual pieces. More arrivals this week include: a nice 3 piece carved coffee and end table set, 3 floor lamps, a copper boiler, an Art Deco cedar chest, excellent wardrobe trunk, a pair of bedroom lamps, unusual slanted copper wood box, a singer sewing machine, assorted light fixtures, an Art Deco sewing cabinet, an iron and wood school desk [ patented 1897 Preston, Ontario], a square corner table, a mantle clock, a wooden fruit crate from Australia [not something you see very often in Ontario], and lots more.

This week a large football player bronze by Jim Davidson showed up, as did two grandfather clocks-photos of both are attached. Antique furniture arrivals this week include: a mission drop front desk, 2 wicker chairs, metal outdoor cart, oak hall umbrella stand, a vintage kitchen table, a primitive drop leaf table, 6 leg parlour table, a narrow gate leg table, a set of 4 Victorian inlaid bridge chairs, a press back nursing rocker, multiple plant stands, a rare vestibule chair, a small maple bookcase, Ethan Allen queen size poster bed, an ornate carved console and mirror with marble top, a child’s chair, a tea wagon, a Spanish style folding screen, and more. A lot of assorted miniature china arrived this week including a bunch of Elizabeth II pieces for all you Anglophiles out there. All kinds of mirrors came in this week as did a pair of French doors. More odds and ends include: a 50 piece set of Limoges china, a brass fire screen, a large brass fireplace surround, a hand painted toy box, a pair of crystal lamps, a blackboard, an odd crystal lamp, assorted glass and china, and more. It’s too humid to pick out a most unusual item of the week, at The Barn we always root for an early fall.

We have had a nice run of artwork at The Barn lately and it continued this week with 2 signed and numbered Walter Campbell prints, a lovely watercolour lighthouse scene by James A. Mitchell, and 15 assorted etchings. A photo is attached of a lot of keys that arrived this week, keys are very popular and always sell out quickly- be warned. Lots of stuff to sit on came in this week including: 2 swivel office chairs-1 Krug, a cast iron outdoor bench painted blue-a photo is attached, a 3 piece outdoor bistro set painted green, 3 bamboo bar stools, a nice pair of hall chairs, and an unusual pair of oak side chairs. A photo is attached of an Asian portable brass noodle cart and an oak wall phone in excellent condition that showed up this week. Other antique arrivals this week include: a great iron and wood wheelbarrow, a large sterling silver fruit bowl, a pair of Victorian lusters, a cedar cedar chest, an Asian style chest, a retro chest of drawers, a large milk can, an oak entrance table, an oak parlour table, a nice walnut vanity, a pair of marble top lamp tables, two sets of canoe paddles, and lots more. The award for most unusual item of the week goes to a four headed Beaver gumball machine.

There was more outdoor arrivals this week including 2 bistro sets, a cast aluminum table and chairs set, an arrow back porch bench, outdoor candle holders, and some metal wall art. Two terrific hand coloured prints by Hy Sandham showed up this week. They are from The Canadian Illustrated news dated 1870 and 1871. Antique furniture arrivals this week include: 2 mahogany china cabinets- one is inlaid-a photo is attached, a pine and iron coffee chest, a Queen Ann vitrine, an oval tea table, a bow front Victorian dresser, Victorian washstand, Art deco cedar chest, primitive pine blanker box, assorted chairs and bar stools including a pair of needlepoint Victorian chairs, an unusual table desk, Queen Ann lamp table, and a retro recliner and stool. Lots of good antique smalls arrived this week, a photo is attached of some of the extras that we didn’t have room for so we put them in a wardrobe. There is lots more including: 3 box fulls of antique and vintage cameras, Lots of cups and saucers [Coalport, Royal Albert, Hammersley, Aynsley, Wedgwood, Imari, Royal Grafton, Royal Stafford, Royal Winton, Limoges], assorted china, a Capodemonti style lamp, a pair of crystal sideboard lamps, and 2 mid century Nippon lamps. Even more arrivals include: a nice working tredle sewing machine, lots of cast iron candle holders, a steel log holder, iron poker set, three 1930’s typewriters including a Remington in a case, and a shabby sheik door. The award for most unusual item of the week goes to a 5 piece Sunday school teacher’s station.

This week 2 sets of Birks sterling Louie XV flatware came in, a 50 piece set and a 77 piece set. They could be combined to make one fantastic large sterling set-a photo is attached. We often buy out full and partial estates, and sometimes do to the large number of new arrivals every week they wind up going into one of our warehouses and don’t get put out on display for months or even years sometimes. Two months ago we bought out a large estate full of fantastic French antiques, the first piece finally came in this week, a Louie XV desk-a photo is attached. More pieces will come in eventually! Other antique arrivals this week include: a Russian samovar, an English oak student’s desk, portable typewriter, a pair of crystal bedroom lamps, a nice walnut cedar chest, retro maple student’s desk, half moon table, walnut magazine rack, 2 outdoor cement bird baths, 11 small pulleys, a large Russian kettle, red leather finger roll chair, leather top coffee table, lots of silver plated flatware, small bookcase, a funky pair of blue Victorian bedroom chairs with fringe, a set of 6 oak kitchen chairs, 9 drawer cherry dresser with mirror, and lots more. We sold out of the bobblehead garden gnomes again, so we got in another batch, pretty soon everyone in the neighbourhood is going to have one. And outdoor elephants are back in stock!

A big shipment of reclaimed wood and new furniture showed up from Vancouver this week including: dinning room tables and chairs, benches, media units, a writing desk [all from the Irish Coast line], Cruz benches and a dinning table, a Workshop bar-a photo is attached, and a couple of new items; a Renaissance dinning table that is 8′ long, and a Postman wall décor. The Postman wall décor is a cool multi divided box for displaying knickknacks. The Cintra sideboards were a hit, so we restocked them in both the large and small sizes. More outdoor items showed up this week including: a 3 piece bistro set, urns, iron bird baths, another big batch of metal birds[flamingos, pelicans, herons, and cranes], and a pair of cast aluminum planters with funky plastic trees and LED lights-a photo is attached. Antique arrivals this week include: some Canadiana pine pieces[dry sink, wash stand, and large 2 door jam cupboard], a Chippendale kneehole desk, a walnut chest of drawers, a lot from The North American Furniture company of Owen sound [ a chest of drawers, a dresser and mirror, and a large shaving mirror], a decorative 1950’s ice cream maker, a crockery umbrella stand, a spectacular wicker table with a large round glass top, 6 x 5′ pieces of iron fencing, a wardrobe trunk, assorted chairs and mirrors, and a lot of vintage tools.

Tis the season, more outdoor arrivals this week including metal owls, frogs, parrots, pelicans, roosters, and three baby owls on a branch-a photo is attached. The bobble head garden gnomes have been a big hit, so we got in another batch this week, and a whole bunch of new smaller gnomes as well-a photo is attached. Antique furniture arrivals this week include: a fantastic oak Jacobean twist fern stand, 2 nice inlaid Hespeler commodes with matching mirrors, 2 oak library desks, 2 cedar chests[1 walnut, 1 Art Deco], a princess dresser, trunks, an extra large toybox, 3 terrific 1/4 cut oak and leather side chairs, a half moon table, an open bookcase, and lots of assorted mirrors. Antique odds and ends this week include: a large pair of Capo de Monte lamps, a bowl and pitcher, a nice supply of old tools, some polished copper pans, buckets, a magazine rack, a pair of large cast iron brackets, 2 cross cut saws, a civil war bayonet, a guitar, iron wine rack, iron log holder, iron garden décor pieces, a lot of straight razors, copper and brass planters, a fire screen, assorted china including some odd tea pots and tea sets, and lots more.
