New Stock Arrives Daily

December 30, 2019

Given that this is the last update for the year we thought we would do something different. Instead of talking about what came in over the past week we thought we would take a longer view and tell everyone about some of the exciting things we have planned for winter and spring.

First a brief explanation of how we do things at The Barn. We carry new and antique. Antiques come in everyday, but we also buy large lots and full estates. We always have a large inventory not out on display, so as things sell and we have space, we bring in new items. That is why The Barn is always packed. As for our new items, some we make, some are made by local Ontario manufacturers , some we import, and some we source from many different importers and suppliers. That is how we get our unmatched variety. Because most things are ordered long in advance we can share some of the highlights of what is on the way.

First antique highlights, new unexpected items show up every week however some items that we already have warehoused and will be putting out on display in the coming months include: an estate full of great French pieces [large armoires, marble top commodes, large ornate mirrors, bronzes, tufted leather sofas, gilt chairs, lots of Louie XV pieces], lots of fantastic paintings-large and small, a terrific French walnut bedroom set, too many desks to mention, and a seemingly endless supply of dinning room chairs. As for smalls we have an estimated 150 boxfuls we have yet to sort and price. Some lots we know are coming include: a Dresden lot, lots of cups and saucers, hummels, primitives, a Paragon lot, all kinds of silver plate, and many estate lots that we don’t yet know the contents.

As for the new, we’ve been sold out of Barn made benches and harvest tables for sometime, but a new batch is coming! The first samples of a new reclaimed wood line we will be carrying called Fergus will arrive in January. Our new Provence reclaimed line was such a hit in 2019 that we will be expanding the line, including some pieces we’ve designed that will be exclusive to The Barn. In March large Provence hall benches and round extension tables will turn up. Also in March the first of our exclusive Provence pieces will arrive, a small bookcase. We have the factory working on designs for Provence hall tables, blanket boxes, and large bookcases to add to the line. We also want to eventually carry the line in a second colour, so the small bookcases will be in original white and a new antique black colour. A container of our Nature Form line will be arriving in early spring with many new items and lots of stump vases for everyone who missed out on the last batch. We have lots of great outdoor items coming for spring. The first arrivals might show up in February, but things will start coming in waves starting in mid March 2020. A huge batch of bobblehead garden gnomes are coming. The largest collection of outdoor metal birds we have ever carried is on its way, and should arrive early April. We special ordered a huge quantity of pink flamingos months ago to be sure they arrived on time. Those are just a few of the highlights of what’s coming up.

We are coming up on the 100th anniversary of The Barn, and we know not very many businesses survive that long. We would like to thank all our loyal customers for a terrific 2019. Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!
